50 journalling prompts
(Spoiler: it actually doesn’t matter what prompt you use to get you started!!!)
I believe that whatever needs to come out to clear your mind will come flowing out when you journal - if you give yourself long enough to write. And the clarity that comes from journalling is second to none :)
Here are my top 50 journalling prompts:
What are you grateful for today?
What values do you consider most important in life? How do your actions align with those values?
What is the silver lining of a situation that didn’t go your way?
Write a list of 10 words that describe you. Then list 10 words that you would like other people to use to describe you (aspirational). List a few ways to turn those ideas into reality. (Inspired by Psych Central)
Write about 3 things that bring you joy?
Who would you like to thank and why?
Are you moving towards what matters most to you? Or what matters most to other people? (Inspired by The New Happy)
Think about a situation you wish had worked out differently. Write about the way you wish it had turned out instead.
Write about your favourite place to be.
Describe a time you felt most like yourself. What was the situation that led you to feel this way? What did you learn or gain from this experience? How could you bring more of that into your life?
What is something you've been saying YES to, that you would prefer to start saying NO to? How would this free up your time? What would you spend this time doing? (Remember: Wwhenever you say “yes” to something, you’re saying “no” to something else. Inspired by The Daily Stoic)
Write about what you consider to be the benefits of journalling so far.
